T Sport Bernau - Race Report Lausitzring 2025

Following the major incident on the circuit in Misano, the team’s plans changed completely: Instead of heading straight to Lausitzring, the team first stopped by Toni Maurer’s workshop – Lutz Bernau’s local vehicle builder.

By Tuesday, our team had straightened the damaged cab with the help of specialist tools, a crane, a forklift, and a fair bit of hammer work. Thanks to the quick coordination, a new side panel was sourced within hours and welded in place by Wednesday. Our special thank you goes out to everyone involved in this recovery and rebuild process as well as to our partners Teng Tools and GYS. Without their equipment, the job would have been far more difficult.

On early Thursday morning, the team hit the road again and arrived at Lausitzring by lunchtime. Without missing a beat, the crew set up the hospitality area and the workshop tent just in time for the free practice and qualifying sessions on Friday.

Despite promising lap times, Antonio had to start Race 1 from P9 due to a grid penalty he was granted in Misano. He delivered a strong performance, gained two places and finished in 7th. Hopes were high for a front-row start in Race 2. Due to a 10-second penalty caused by a signal spike in the speed control system, we saw him quite starting from P12. Frustrated but undeterred, Antonio fought hard and climbed to finish in a fantastic 8th place.

Sunday’s qualifying session was another close contest. Antonio gave it his all and secured P4. At the race, he was under heavy pressure from René Reinert running on Norbert Kiss’ 2024 truck. Despite a fierce battle, Antonio was overtaken at the final lap and finally finished in 5th.

The final race of the weekend was set to begin just before 7pm. However, persistent afternoon rain flooding the track led to a last-minute cancellation – just as the team was leaving the tents and heading to the grid.

While the overall results weren’t entirely satisfying for the team, we are encouraged by the strong pace and the absence of major issues. With a bit of better luck, we're confident that in two weeks’ time we can convert our speed into real results at the Slovakiaring. #truckracing #racetruck #antonioalbacete #varta #wm #truckfit #masteroil #bpw #pe #tengtools #gys
