Race Report – 8. Race Jarama, Spain

The team was full of excitement heading into the final race weekend of the season at Antonio’s home circuit in Jarama, near Madrid.

We welcomed a large number of guests from Varta, PE, Teng Tools, Nissens, and BPW Trapaco, and there was strong media interest, as Antonio is a local hero and very well known in Spain.

Saturday’s programme included two free practice sessions followed by a spectacular truck parade, where Antonio received a special award recognising his remarkable racing career. It was a proud and emotional moment for Antonio, his family, and the team, with the crowd cheering loudly for their home hero.

Qualifying took place unusually late in the afternoon and didn’t go entirely to plan. Antonio’s fastest lap was deleted for hitting a penalty marker, dropping him to P6 on the grid.

In Race 1, Antonio showed great pace, pulled off a strong overtaking move, and benefitted from a technical problem for Sacha Lenz to finish in P4.

In Race 2, Antonio had a brilliant start and was running in P3, but a rose joint on the lower torque bar snapped, causing the differential to rotate and the driveshaft to break in half. This meant no points and a long evening of repairs for the mechanics, who also decided to change the gearbox as a precaution.

Despite the setback, the team remained fully motivated, heading into Sunday just four points behind René Reinert in the standings.

Qualifying was once again very close, with Antonio taking P5 for Race 3. After a tough battle, he crossed the finish line in P8 — not the result the team hoped for, but that tactical move meant Antonio would start from P1 in the final race thanks to the reverse-grid format.

 The tension was high as fans, guests, and the entire team gathered for the final race day of the 2025 season.

Antonio delivered a fantastic performance, finishing on the top step of the podium to close the season in style!

It was a fitting end to an exciting and challenging season. The team will celebrate tonight at the official FIA prize-giving ceremony, collecting the trophy for finishing 6th overall out of 20 drivers in the 2025 FIA European Truck Racing Championship.

Das Team war voller Vorfreude auf das letzte Rennwochenende der Saison auf Antonios Heimstrecke in Jarama, nahe Madrid.

Wir begrüßten zahlreiche Gäste von Varta, PE, Teng Tools, Nissens und BPW Trapaco, und es gab ein großes Medieninteresse, da Antonio ein lokaler Held und in Spanien sehr bekannt ist.

Das Programm am Samstag umfasste zwei Freie Trainingssitzungen, gefolgt von einer spektakulären Truck-Parade, bei der Antonio eine besondere Auszeichnung für seine bemerkenswerte Rennkarriere erhielt. Es war ein stolzer und emotionaler Moment für Antonio, seine Familie und das Team, während die Fans lautstark für ihren Heimhelden jubelten.

Das Qualifying fand ungewöhnlich spät am Nachmittag statt und verlief nicht ganz nach Plan. Antonios schnellste Runde wurde wegen einer Berührung mit der Streckenbegrenzung leider gestrichen, wodurch er auf den 6. Startplatz zurückfiel.

Im Rennen 1 zeigte Antonio großes Tempo, setzte einen starken Überholmanöver um und profitierte von einem technischen Problem bei Sacha Lenz, sodass er auf P4 ins Ziel kam.

Im Rennen 2 hatte Antonio einen hervorragenden Start und lag auf P3, doch ein Kugelgelenk an der unteren Drehmomentstange brach, was dazu führte, dass sich das Differential drehte und die Antriebswelle in der Mitte zerbrach. Dies bedeutete keine Punkte und einen langen Abend mit Reparaturen für die Mechaniker, die sich außerdem vorsorglich entschieden, das Getriebe zu wechseln.

Trotz des Rückschlags blieb das Team hochmotiviert und ging am Sonntag nur vier Punkte hinter René Reinert in der Gesamtwertung ins Rennen.

Das Qualifying war erneut sehr eng, und Antonio sicherte sich P5 für Rennen 3. Nach einem harten Kampf überquerte er die Ziellinie auf P8 – nicht das Ergebnis, das sich das Team erhofft hatte, doch dieser taktische Schachzug bedeutete, dass Antonio dank des Reverse-Grid-Formats im letzten Rennen von P1 starten würde.

Die Spannung war hoch, als Fans, Gäste und das gesamte Team sich zum letzten Renntag der Saison 2025 versammelten.

Antonio lieferte eine fantastische Leistung ab und beendete das Jahr stilvoll auf dem Podium in P1!

Es war ein würdiger Abschluss nach einer aufregenden und herausfordernden Saison. Das Team wird heute Abend bei der offiziellen FIA-Siegerehrung feiern und die Trophäe für den 6. Gesamtrang von 20 Fahrern in der FIA European Truck Racing Championship 2025 entgegennehmen.
