Three Podium Finishes for T Sport Bernau at the 40th International ADAC Truck Grand Prix Nürburgring

The 40th International ADAC Truck Grand Prix at the Nürburgring once again lived up to its reputation as the highlight of the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship calendar. As one of the biggest events of the season, it brought together teams, manufacturers, industry partners and thousands of truck racing fans for an unforgettable weekend.

For T Sport Bernau, the event is one of the busiest of the year. Alongside the racing, the team welcomed more than 900 guests to its hospitality area and VIP lounge overlooking the start-finish straight. Partners Truckfit and Masteroil, BPW and PE, Varta, Dometic, Trux and Speedline were also present throughout the weekend, showcasing their brands within the team paddock and exhibition area.

Preparations began the week before at Workshop Lunau in Wuppertal, where the team completed the final work on Antonio's race truck before arriving at the Nürburgring on Monday to build its impressive paddock setup. On Thursday, the team welcomed two groups of nursery and primary school children for a behind-the-scenes paddock experience, introducing them to truck racing through interactive activities and a close-up look at the race truck.

Later that afternoon, T Sport Bernau celebrated a special milestone as the Marketing Manager from PE Automotive presented the team with a commemorative trophy to mark ten years of partnership. Having supported the team since its very beginning, the recognition was a proud and emotional moment for everyone involved.

The on-track action started on Thursday with one free practice session in the afternoon. This was followed on Friday morning by Free Practice 2 and then qualifying.

Saturday

Antonio converted his front-row start into an excellent second-place finish in Race 1, delivering a controlled and consistent drive to secure the team's first podium of the weekend.

Starting seventh for Race 2 under the reverse-grid format, Antonio immediately moved into sixth before being forced wide by another competitor and dropping back to eighth. Showing great determination, he fought back to regain the lost position and crossed the finish line in seventh after another competitive performance.

Away from the track, the Nürburgring atmosphere was just as impressive. Hundreds of guests, partners and fans visited the T Sport Bernau hospitality throughout the day, enjoying great food, refreshments and the unique experience of Europe's biggest truck racing event. Saturday concluded with a spectacular fireworks display, bringing a fitting end to an action-packed day.

Sunday

Sunday began with another encouraging qualifying session. Antonio once again showed excellent pace, posting competitive lap and sector times throughout qualifying before securing fourth place in the final Super Pole shootout. While a strong result, the team felt another front-row start was within reach after demonstrating pace comparable to Friday's performance.

Race 3 produced another outstanding drive from Antonio. A fantastic start saw him immediately move up into third place, where he remained under constant pressure throughout the race. Delivering another calm and determined performance, he defended his position to take the chequered flag in third, securing his second podium finish of the weekend and another valuable haul of championship points.

For Race 4, Antonio lined up sixth on the grid under the reverse-grid regulations. Once again, he made a fantastic start and skilfully avoided a first-corner incident that caught out several competitors. Capitalising on the opportunity, Antonio immediately moved up into third place before delivering another composed and competitive drive to the finish. Crossing the line in third, he secured his third podium finish of the weekend and completed an outstanding weekend for both driver and team.

Looking Back

The Nürburgring once again proved to be a memorable weekend for T Sport Bernau. From celebrating ten years of partnership with PE Automotive and welcoming more than 900 guests to securing three podium finishes, the event showcased the team's commitment both on and off the track.

The outstanding results also had a significant impact on the championship standings. Antonio and T Sport Bernau move up to second place in the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship, level on points with Sascha Lenz.

The team would like to thank all of its partners, guests, volunteers and fans for their incredible support throughout the weekend. 3. Rennen Nürburgring, Deutschland | 9.–12. Juli 2026

Der 40. Internationale ADAC Truck-Grand-Prix auf dem Nürburgring wurde seinem Ruf als Höhepunkt des Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship Kalenders einmal mehr gerecht. Als eine der größten Veranstaltungen der Saison brachte das Wochenende Teams, Hersteller, Industriepartner und tausende Truck-Racing-Fans zu einem unvergesslichen Event zusammen.

Für T Sport Bernau zählt der Nürburgring jedes Jahr zu den wichtigsten und arbeitsintensivsten Veranstaltungen der Saison. Neben dem Renngeschehen begrüßte das Team über das gesamte Wochenende mehr als 900 Gäste in seiner Hospitality und der VIP-Lounge mit Blick auf die Start-Ziel-Gerade. Auch die Partner Truckfit und Masteroil, BPW und PE, Varta, Dometic, Trux sowie Speedline präsentierten sich sowohl im Team-Paddock als auch im Ausstellungsbereich.

Die Vorbereitungen begannen bereits in der Woche zuvor in der Werkstatt Lunau in Wuppertal, wo die letzten Arbeiten am Renntruck von Antonio abgeschlossen wurden. Anschließend reiste das Team bereits am Montag zum Nürburgring, um den aufwendigen Paddock-Aufbau und den Hospitality-Bereich rechtzeitig fertigzustellen. Am Donnerstag begrüßte T Sport Bernau zwei Gruppen von Kindergarten- und Grundschulkindern zu einem Blick hinter die Kulissen des Truck Racings. Die Kinder konnten den Renntruck aus nächster Nähe erleben und an verschiedenen spielerischen Aktivitäten rund um den Motorsport teilnehmen.

Am Nachmittag durfte sich das Team über einen besonderen Moment freuen: Zur Feier der zehnjährigen Partnerschaft überreichte die Marketingleitung von PE Automotive einen Gedenkpokal an T Sport Bernau.

Da PE Automotive das Team bereits seit den ersten Tagen begleitet, war diese Auszeichnung für alle Beteiligten ein besonders emotionaler Augenblick.

Der sportliche Teil des Wochenendes begann am Donnerstag mit dem ersten Freien Training. Am Freitagmorgen folgten das zweite Freie Training sowie das Qualifying.

Samstag

Antonio setzte seine starke Qualifying-Leistung eindrucksvoll um und fuhr im ersten Rennen nach einer kontrollierten und konstanten Leistung auf den zweiten Platz. Damit sicherte sich T Sport Bernau den ersten Podiumsplatz des Wochenendes.

Durch das Reverse-Grid-Format startete Antonio das zweite Rennen von Position sieben. Nach einem starken Start verbesserte er sich zunächst auf Rang sechs, wurde jedoch von einem Konkurrenten von der Strecke gedrängt und fiel auf Platz acht zurück. Mit großem Kampfgeist arbeitete er sich sofort wieder nach vorne und überquerte die Ziellinie schließlich auf Rang sieben.

Auch abseits der Rennstrecke herrschte den ganzen Samstag über eine großartige Atmosphäre. Hunderte Gäste, Partner und Fans besuchten die Hospitality von T Sport Bernau und genossen die besondere Stimmung des größten Truck-Racing-Events Europas. Den gelungenen Tag rundete am Abend das traditionelle Feuerwerk ab.

Sonntag

Der Sonntag begann mit einem weiteren vielversprechenden Qualifying. Antonio zeigte erneut hervorragende Pace und fuhr konstant starke Runden- und Sektorzeiten. Im entscheidenden Super-Pole-Durchgang belegte er schließlich Startplatz vier. Obwohl dies ein starkes Ergebnis war, war sich das Team sicher, dass angesichts der gezeigten Geschwindigkeit erneut ein Platz in der ersten Startreihe möglich gewesen wäre.

Im dritten Rennen gelang Antonio ein perfekter Start und er verbesserte sich unmittelbar auf den dritten Platz. Mit einer souveränen und fehlerfreien Leistung verteidigte er seine Position bis ins Ziel und sicherte sich seinen zweiten Podiumsplatz des Wochenendes sowie weitere wichtige Meisterschaftspunkte.

Für das vierte Rennen startete Antonio aufgrund der Reverse-Grid-Regel von Position sechs. Er erwischte erneut einen hervorragenden Start, konnte einer Kollision in der ersten Kurve geschickt ausweichen und nutzte die Situation, um sich direkt auf den dritten Platz zu verbessern. Mit einer weiteren souveränen und konstanten Fahrt brachte er den dritten Rang sicher ins Ziel und feierte damit seinen dritten Podiumsplatz des Wochenendes.

Rückblick

Der Nürburgring war erneut ein unvergessliches Wochenende für T Sport Bernau. Von der Feier des zehnjährigen Partnerschaftsjubiläums mit PE Automotive über die Betreuung von mehr als 900 Gästen bis hin zu drei Podiumsplätzen zeigte das Team eindrucksvoll sein Engagement – sowohl auf als auch neben der Rennstrecke.

Die hervorragenden Ergebnisse hatten zudem einen entscheidenden Einfluss auf die Meisterschaft. Antonio und T Sport Bernau verbesserten sich auf den zweiten Gesamtrang der Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship und liegen punktgleich mit Sascha Lenz auf Platz zwei.

Das Team bedankt sich herzlich bei allen Partnern, Gästen, Helfern und Fans für die großartige Unterstützung während des gesamten Wochenendes. Mit drei Podiumsplätzen, wichtigen Meisterschaftspunkten und vielen unvergesslichen Momenten blickt T Sport Bernau nun voller Zuversicht auf die nächste Runde der Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship.
